Tata Coffee peps up on
good quarterly numbers

The Tata Coffee scrip was up 7 per cent
to Rs 318.65 after the company reported
a robust Q2 results. The company's net profit
for this quarter jumped 135.5 per cent to
Rs 6.62 crore from Rs 2.54 crore for the
corresponding quarter previous year. Net
sales in Q2 rose 4.1 per cent to Rs 52.83
crore as compared to Rs 50.71 crore in the
same quarter last year. The company aims
at reaching the number two position in the
branded packaged filter coffee business.
Tata Coffee plans to open 10 outlets in
Mumbai by 2005.
